Dr. Douglas Cleveland performs the dedicatory recital on the 3,800-pipe Schlicker Organ in St. John's Episcopal Church, Olympia.

Built in 1967, the organ was for decades used for worship and notable recitals at Plymouth Congregational Church, Seattle.

Now the Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Medina, WA., Cleveland has served on the organ faculties of St. Olaf College, Northwestern University, and the University of Washington.

An Olympia native, Cleveland took his first organ lessons from the late Jane Edge, then the St. John's organist. He studied at the Eastman School of Music, Indiana University, and Oxford University. He has performed at Notre Dame-Paris, Westminster Abbey and the Washington National Cathedral, among dozens of other venues nationally and internationally.

St. John's takes a freewill offering at the recital (or when registering for the live-stream using Eventbrite) in lieu of selling tickets. We recommend a donation of $20 per person ($10 for students and seniors).
