Oregon Bach Festival: An American Mosaic

In the darkest moments of 2020, OBF commissioned Richard Danielpour to create a musical response to the burgeoning pandemic. The piece, performed by Simone Dinnerstein, had its virtual world premiere in December of 2020 and commemorates segments of the American population that have been affected by COVID-19, including those who have lost their lives to the virus. The subsequent recording led to three million iTunes downloads and a Grammy-nomination. Now, the "expressive and thrilling" (The Philadelphia Inquirer) Dinnerstein performs the piece live for Eugene audiences. Three transcriptions of Bach choral works will also be performed.
As of March 31, OBF performance spaces no longer require mandatory face masks or proof of vaccination. The venues do welcome and encourage patrons who wish to, to continue wearing masks while attending performances.
