Press Start Orchestra returns with our second concert, MIRAGE, exploring the music of Samuel Barber, Karl Jenkins, and Randall Woolf, and themes from Journey, the BAFTA award-winning and first-ever GRAMMY-nominated video game score written by Austin Wintory. Featuring three world premieres by Press Start’s 2022 Composer Competition finalists, who put their own imaginative spin on the breath-taking melodies of Journey.
Journey’s expansive desert environment sets the backdrop for this atmospheric program of video game music and chamber works. Many paths we take feel aimless and foreign. We look to the horizon to guide us, only to catch a glint off to the side in the corner of our eye. Like the way a reflection vibrates in a splash of water, MIRAGE invites a state of play that’s transformative and introspective, reminding us that exploration is a trust process entirely its own.

COVID-19 POLICY
Attendees must provide proof of full vaccination and photo ID upon entry. Masks are required while seated in the theater. While consuming beverages outside the theater, masks may be removed. We will provide face masks at the door and bar, as well as hand sanitizer throughout the venue. Please stay home if you are feeling sick, and contact info@psorch.org if you would like to arrange a refund or ticket transfer if you test positive before the event.
VENUE ACCESSIBILITY
The venue entrance at 152 West 71st Street is accessible via stairs. There is also an elevator available for use at a separate entrance location. Please contact info@psorch.org prior to the event if you need to use the elevator, and we will coordinate with you directly.
