The Catacombs of Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY, United States

Opera superstar Anthony Roth Costanzo will take a short break from the Metropolitan Opera and the New York Philharmonic to join us in the Catacombs. Performing the one-night-only world premiere of Aaron Siegel's Watching Birds at the End of the World, he’ll be accompanied by leading percussionist Sae Hashimoto on vibraphone.

Watching Birds at The End of the World is a collection of 14 songs written for countertenor and vibraphone that contemplates the power of love lost and regained. These intimate songs, written by composer Aaron Siegel, range from the hushed to the mournful, all in a direct voice from Costanzo. Delivered in the candlelight of the Greenwood Cemetery catacombs, these songs and sounds will reverberate deeply into the feeling of loss present in that space and also create an energy of rebirth for listeners.

Each performance includes an hourlong spirits tasting, followed by a walk through the cemetery to the Catacombs.
