About the Festival: An institution since 1943, Marrowstone Music Festival is the Pacific Northwest's premier orchestral training program for advanced student musicians, led by SYSO Music Director Juan Felipe Molano. Marrowstone is presented by Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra.

True to its history, Marrowstone remains an orchestral training experience. Marrowstone's three orchestras perform weekly under the direction of world class conductors and artist-faculty. The festival also includes chamber music studies and performance, master classes, and private instruction.

Marrowstone students have had the opportunity to study with internationally acclaimed performers and artist-faculty from such institutions as the Chicago Symphony, the Zurich Opera Orchestra, the Seattle Symphony, the University of Michigan, the University of Texas-Austin, the Empire Brass, and the National Symphony Orchestra.

Marrowstone graduates and alumni play in major orchestras and opera companies across the United States, including those of Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and New York, as well as internationally in London, Paris, Milan, Hong Kong and Tokyo, and many others.

SYSO will abide by all COVID-19 protocols set by the performance venues for performers and audience members.
