MIME is returning to the Columbia this July to present a free community concert at the Wilde Lake Interfaith. We hope you will join us to experience our unique choreographed music performances this summer. This year our ensemble is larger and consists of all string players playing a variety of string orchestra repertoire. The world's first and only professional moving orchestra, MIME is excited to provide the community with this original performance!
About Movement In Music Ensemble (MIME)
Memorized music, no conductor, choreographed movement.
Inspired by the great James Ross, previous artistic director at University of Maryland, MIME was created to provide audiences with a unique experience which not only involves traditional music but also provides a visual presentation of the musicians themselves. MIME does something that no other professional orchestra does by creating unique choreography and playing entirely from memory and without aid of a conductor.
