City of Fairfax – Main Street Community Band

The City of Fairfax Band Association, Inc. added its newest ensemble, the Main Street Community Band (MSCB), in February of 2009. This band is led by Geoffrey K. Seffens, long-time Lanier Intermediate School band director and former director of the Vienna Concert Band. Their repertoire ranges from Baroque to Beatles including works by Gabrieli, Stephen Foster, Holst, as well as arrangements by members of the group.

If it rains, the Evenings on the Ellipse Concert will be moved inside to the Fairfax County Government Center Forum.

About Main Street Community Band

The Main Street Community Band, created in 2009 to accommodate the City of Fairfax Band Association's growth, has come into its own as a young, vibrant, and talented volunteer ensemble. Members range from those dusting off their high school instruments to more advanced players, including local music educators. The group plays regular season concerts as well as outdoor engagements. We're open to adult wind, brass, and percussion players at least 18 years of age. We look forward to Wednesday evenings to spend time with friends, playing interesting and fun music.
