Cascadia Composers is excited to announce the first concert of its 2022-23 season: "Crossing Paths 2022: A Summer Celebration of New Music in the Garden".

The program will include works of Cascadia Composers: Adrienne Albert, William Ashworth, Daria Baiocchi, David S. Bernstein, John G. Bilotta, Antonio Celaya, Ted Clifford, Ken Davies, David Jones, Lisa Ann Marsh, Jan Mittelstaedt, Carolyn Quick, Christina Rusnak, Greg A. Steinke, Tomas Svoboda, and Linda Woody.

Featured musicians include the Rose City Brass Quintet (Logan Thane Brown, Lars Campbell, JáTtik Clark, Joseph Klause, and Daniel Partridge), Dunja Jennings Marcum (clarinet), Daniel Partridge (horn), and Brett EE Paschal, Wanyue Ye, and Davi Martinelli de Lira (percussion).

Gate opens at 4pm when guests may explore the garden grounds and experience an electronic sound installation by Daniel Brugh, Mei-ling Lee, Timothy Arliss O'Brien, Jennifer Wright, and Nicholas Yandell. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and may pack in a picnic to enjoy on the garden grounds. Alcoholic beverages may not be brought onto the grounds, but beer and wine will be sold on-site.

The Rose City Brass Quintet set begins at 5pm. The other performances will follow at different locations around the garden with the performances repeated so that concert guests may experience the music at each of the locations in any order they choose.

About Wanyue Ye, percussion

Award-winning percussionist Wanyue Ye has performed internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra player. She has made appearances at venues such as The Kennedy Center, The Modell Lyric Performing Arts Center, and The National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. Ms. Ye earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Percussion Performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where she was the recipient of the Greeney Scholarship.During her time at Peabody, Ms. Ye studied with marimba virtuoso Robert van Sice, Tom Freer from The Cleveland Orchestra, and David Skidmore from the Grammy-awarded percussion quartet Third Coast Percussion Group. She was also recently selected by Tuck Business School of Dartmouth as a scholarship recipient to attend the competitive Tuck Business Bridge Program in recognition of her achievements and understanding of business strategy and market development, as they relate to the performing arts industry.
