Teatro Real (Royal Opera of Madrid) makes its Carnegie Hall debut after being named Best Opera Company in 2021 by the International Opera Awards. This performance celebrates the far-reaching influence of Spanish repertory as well as the 40th anniversary of the Sister City agreement between Madrid and New York. The concert highlights well-known works for piano, orchestra, and songs from zarzuela composed by Falla, Albéniz, and others. International Spanish artists Javier Perianes, soprano Sabina Puértolas, and Juanjo Mena will lead the Orchestra of the Teatro Real.
