The evening begins with Beethoven's third piano concerto, one of his favorites and one of the most difficult in the repertoire. It’s performed on fortepiano by Hungarian virtuoso Petra Somlai, winner at the International Fortepiano Competition in Bruges and professor at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Next is Schubert’s Symphony No. 5, written at the age of 18 and C.P.E. Bach's Symphony in F major, composed in Berlin, where he was one of the foremost clavier players.
