The Simple Gifts Concert Series of the Glenview Community Church and American Guild of Organists North Shore and Chicago chapters present organist Scott Dettra playing the music of Cesar Franck in our sanctuary. In celebration of the 200th Anniversary of Franck's birth American concert organist Scott Dettra will undertake Franck's 12 major organ works, performed from memory in two 75-minute recitals in successive performances.
The second performance will be at St. Lukes’s Episcopal Church in Evanston on Sunday, October 2 at 4pm. Dettra, an "outstanding musician" (The Diapason) and "an organist with both impeccable musical taste and dazzling technique to burn" (Fanfare), has been acclaimed as one of America's leading concert organists. Previously the organist of Washington National Cathedral, he is currently director of music at the Church of the Incarnation in Dallas, Texas. Don't miss this amazing musician!
