Brass Band Northwest invites you to our season first concert of the 2022-2023 season.
We open our program with a lush fanfare by local composer Gina Gillie. Employing the full range of color that brass can provide this work is an exciting opening for our new season.
Karl Jenkins wrote a series of vocal works called the "Adiemus" project using an instrumental approach to vocal composition. Peter Graham has since arranged a selection of these for brass band, inviting a vocal approach to instrumental music.
During the pandemic Michael Weinstein composed a symphony for Brass Band Northwest. The work begins with uncertainty, anger, and sadness reflecting the emotions stirred by the coronavirus progressing toward resolution and finally triumph.
