Join Boise Phil in an all-American program celebrating the rich musical history of our country, past and present. Members of the Boise Phil Youth Orchestra take the stage in a side-by-side performance of William Grant Still's brassy Festive Overture. Audience members then travel to the misty blue mountains of Appalachia with Jennifer Higdon's Suite from Cold Mountain and then simmer in the deep South with Florence Price's stunning Piano Concerto, joined by piano virtuoso Fei-Fei, a winner of the Concert Artists Guild Competition and a top finalist at the prestigious 14th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Finally, listeners take a snappy, jazzy jaunt to New York City with Gershwin's famous Rhapsody in Blue, which he once called "a musical kaleidoscope of America," once again joined by Fei-Fei.
