Hailed by The Boston Globe as "the most important American quartet in history," the Juilliard String Quartet draws on a deep and vital engagement with the classics, while embracing the mission of championing new works. This evening's program includes the Beethoven String Quartet No. 13 in B-flat major, Op. 130, paired with new pieces by the celebrated German composer Jӧrg Widmann, which were co-commissioned by the Juilliard String Quartet and designed to accompany Beethoven's work. The Green Music Center is a proud co-commissioner of this project.
