After being touched by the music of Cecil Taylor, Yuko Fujiyama moved to the US from Japan in 1987, and began performing her own original improvisational music in 1993. Here, the pianist, improviser, and longtime resident of NYC has observed, even in this multicultural city, that the "beauty of eastern expression in improvisational music" is rarely showcased, and has brought together an all-star lineup, including Jen Shyu, Graham Haynes, and Reggie Nicholson, to help her do just that.
Doors open at 7pm.
