Piano Lunaire presents the second installment of our new performance series, "Composers in Play." Join us in New York City, as we play music by living composers, pursuing their best works from the solo keyboard.
COMPOSERS IN PLAY II: "Become a Lake" this LATE STAGE performance begins at 8:30pm and includes complimentary beer and wine. It features pianists Stephen Runge and Adam Sherkin in respective solo sets, extra-musically directed by the nature of water in how it shifts, re-forms, and settles. Such water systems, from small rivers to vast oceans, are paramount in sustaining life on Earth as we know it. We celebrate the influence of water on various sonic palettes: sampled from the late 19th Century to present-day.
Jimmie LeBlanc's Become a Lake receives its US premiere, and Adam Sherkin's Tagish Fires a world premiere.
