Welcome back Madeline Adkins! Our much beloved former concertmaster (the 1997 Stulberg Gold Medalist, who deserted us for Deseret as concertmaster of Utah Symphony) returns for a performance of Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto. We’ll hear her first in Arvo Pärt's Fratres, a pleasing work based on Gregorian Chant conducted by Assistant Conductor Isaiah Shim. Ludwig van Beethoven’s powerful Symphony No. 7 rounds out the program.
