This month Music in the Museum is proud to present pianist/composer Rachel Matthews and violist Annie Chang-Center performing works by Brahms, Bach, and others. The concert will also include an award-winning composition by Matthews.
Enjoy these monthly concerts in our intimate gallery setting surrounded by beautiful art from the Northwest – close-up and personal, as chamber music was originally meant to be experienced.
The concerts are about one-hour in length at 6pm, leaving you time to dine out after. Your concert ticket includes admission to all the museum galleries, so make sure you come early to see the current exhibits!
Seating is limited and these concerts often sell-out, so please we suggest reserving your seats well in advance.
About Annie Chang-Center, viola & piano
Violist/pianist Annie Chang-Center has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras; and in England, Wales, France, Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Taiwan. She is a member of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and performs regularly in Washington, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
About Rachel Matthews, piano
Pianist and composer Rachel Matthews has performed from New York to Paris. Her classical compositions have been honored in international competitions and are recorded, published and performed widely. Her works have been heard recently at the International Viola Congress, the Iowa Arts Festival, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, the San Francisco Conservatory, the Cottonwood Music Festival, Washington Composers Forum, and Pendulum New Music in Boulder, CO. Rachel is recipient of grants and commissions including the American Composers Forum, 4Culture, and Jack Straw Productions' Artist Support Program, and she held a 2011 City Artist Grant from the Seattle Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs.
