"One of the most intelligent and intense artists on the concert stage today" (Theater Jones), Kenny Broberg marks his PPI debut with a program exploring the rich romanticism of 19th-century piano music.
Carl Maria von Weber's Sonata in E minor scales operatic heights of melody and harmonic invention, while a selection of Fauré miniatures warms the heart with grace and sensuality. Written as Europe descended into the fog of World War II, Nikolai Medtner's Idyll-Sonata-Pastorale in G major is an ode to Arcadian ideals, and Liszt's "Dante Sonata" takes listeners on a cinematic musical journey filled with swirling storms and heavenly radiance.
PRE-CONCERT LECTURE: Join us for a special pre-concert lecture given by Bill Crane, executive director of PPI, at 3:15pm before each concert. This lecture occurs inside Lincoln Performance Hall.
