Traditional music of the Native American tribes of northern Mexico inspired Chávez's fiery "Sinfonía India," and the dance traditions of Spain and Hungary take the stage in music of Falla and Kodály. Winner of the Platinum Prize at the 2022 Canadian International Music Competition and Gold Medalist at the 2020 Aloha International Piano Competition, the young pianist Jason Nam showcases a prodigious talent beyond his years. He joins SMCO for Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2, a virtuosic work that overflows with powerful romantic melody and alludes to the mazurka dance of the composer's native Poland.
