Recorded partially in his hometown of Baltimore and partially in his dorm room at Princeton, Julien Chang's new album The Sale is a homegrown effort with Chang playing all instruments, bar the odd exception of a few notable cameos from Baltimore locals, classmates and old friends. Following his debut Jules – which saw Chang earn praise from the likes of Pitchfork, Fader, The Guardian, NME, Loud & Quiet, DIY, and Billboard, alongside support from BBC Radio 1 & 6Music via Annie Mac Jack Saunders and Jamz Supernova – his new LP explores the discrepancy between two worlds, a struggle to get comfortable in either one of them, and ultimately an artistic fascination with this very struggle.

Motor HOUSE Party Live Music Series – each month, enjoy the vibes and tunes of Baltimore's most vibrant musical acts that feature artists who are diverse in terms of style and genre.

About Pique Collective

Pique Collective is a quintet of modern musicians striving to Be More in B'More by bringing together local artists, craft brews n' eats, and live concerts of new and original musical compositions. As an ensemble, Pique performs original and contemporary music in fresh and exciting ways, offering alternatives to the standard concert music venue. As locals, we aim to involve crafters, brewers, and artists of all stripes in our concerts, so that we can help grow culture and positivity within our community. Pique Collective is your local bestie when it comes to uncommon experiences in art music, and as part of a lively family of modern and post-modern musicians in Baltimore, we love contributing with shows that think outside the bar, but keep great time!
