First Pres Marietta Lunchtime Series: Bach & Sowerby

Leo Sowerby — Three Improvised Sketches on a Lenten Hymn ("Toccata")

The community is invited to join FPC for a time of musical reflection as we journey through the season of Lent. All are welcome for these free lunchtime concerts taking place on Wednesdays in March. 

For the third week, a solo piano concert will be given by Will Buthod, featuring a Bach fugue as well as a piece from 1941 inspired by a lenten hymn.

About Will Buthod, piano

Will Buthod, pianist, organist, composer, and conductor, has been in church ministry for the past 26 years. Buthod is known for employing a wide range of styles to fit any given situation, and is in demand in multiple areas, from Gospel to Salsa and Bluegrass. He has served congregations in New York, Paris, Phoenix, and Atlanta, as well as throughout Oklahoma and New Jersey, and currently serves as Minister of Music at Holy Trinity Parish (Episcopal) in Decatur, GA.
