Thursday, March 2, 2023 @ 8:00pm – 10:00pm (EST)
Atlanta Symphony Hall, Atlanta, GA, United States

Join Associate Conductor Jerry Hou and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as we celebrate the American experience. The concert opens with Joan Tower's 1920/2019, a piece spanning 100 years of women's history, from voting rights to the #MeToo movement. And then the dynamic pianist Awadagin Pratt joins the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for a new piano concerto by one of America's most sought-after composers, Jessie Montgomery. The program concludes with a concert-hall classic, the irresistible Concerto for Orchestra, written in New York by the Hungarian immigrant Bela Bartòk in 1943.

HBCU Night at the ASO: The ASO hosts the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance to support the mission of local and national HBCUs through scholarship fundraising, alumni reclamation, student recruitment and programs that promote higher education. The ASO will showcase pianist Awadagin Pratt and Rounds, a piece by Jessie Montgomery. Join us as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra continues to celebrate the impact of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in partnership with the HBCU Alumni Alliance.
