Epiphany Parish of Seattle, Seattle, WA, United States
Online and in-person

A 13th-century hymn portraying Mary's distress and lament during the crucifixion of Christ, the Stabat mater text has been set by many notable composers. This program will feature settings by Marco Rosano and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, performed by Epiphany's own José Luis Muñoz and Jenny Spence. Pergolesi's famous twelve-movement setting is one of the most well-known sacred works, while the Rosano is a new work meant to compliment the Pergolesi. Often performed during Lent, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater is written for soprano and alto soloists, accompanied by strings and continuo.

Open Admission. Live in the church and live-streamed on the Epiphany Seattle YouTube channel.
