Cora Voce: And All Shall Be Well (Giselle Wyers, composer)
$25-$100 donation
And All Shall Be Well, for chorus, strings, and piano, was commissioned by the Vashon Island Chorale under the direction of Artistic Director and Conductor Gary Cannon, and enjoyed subsequent performances with Cascadian Chorale, UW Chorale, and a festival choir of Washingtonians in Carnegie Hall conducted by composer Giselle Wyers (the Donald E. Petersen Endowed Professor of Choral Music at the University of Washington). It reflects upon different aspects of life's meaning and what we leave to those who come after us. A line from the seminal poem by T.S. Eliot, We Shall Not Cease, became the work's title.
Join us in a beautiful and uplifting celebration of life and the incredible creativity and contributions of Northwest composers, choralists, and musicians – through the unifying power of music.
This program will be performed twice: Saturday, March 18 at Mason United Methodist Church in Tacoma; and Sunday, March 19 at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Olympia.
