Guest pianist Murray McLachlan leads a master class with PSU students, followed by a lecture titled "The Universality of Practice and Practising," in which he will discuss the universe of approaches to practicing, from mental and physical to spiritual, intellectual, kinaesthetic, and multi-sensory and how these help to continue a musician's lifelong development.

The master class is in Lincoln Hall 326, and the lecture follows in Lincoln Hall 225.

This event is part of the PSU Steinway Series, which brings internationally recognized performers and educators to Portland for a weekend of public recitals and master classes each year. Acting as a bridge between world-class stages and the college classroom, the series elevates awareness for PSU’s outstanding music program while providing students and concertgoers with access to a broad spectrum of the highest level professional pianists performing today.
