Portland Youth Philharmonic: Cushion Concert
$15 ($12 senior, $7 student)
The Portland Youth String Ensemble (PYSE), conducted by Inés Voglar Belgique, presents a family-friendly concert for children 2-8 years of age. The program will be 45 minutes long and will include instrument demonstrations, a Q & A, and PYP's Instrument Petting Zoo hosted by Kennedy Violins!
Commissioned by the Portland Youth String Ensemble (PYSE) in 2020 and performed in May 2021, Skye Neal's piece Following the Stream was inspired by her treks through the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
Families can arrive between 2pm-3pm to walk their children through the Instrument Petting Zoo. Here, children may try violins, cellos, and other instruments in the string family, while having the opportunity to meet and interact with PYP musicians.
This concert will be presented in person at Rise Church, as well as virtually via free livestream.
