Thursday, April 27, 2023 @ 7:30pm – 9:30pm (EDT)
Justice Forum at the Kennedy Center, Washington, DC, United States

Note: This concert is currently sold out.

As part of the Kennedy Center’s new Green Shoots initiative, we welcome the Isidore String Quartet, who have recently been recognized for two pretigious awards—the 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grant and first prize at the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC) at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Comprised of recent Juilliard graduates, the New York City-based ensemble formed in 2019 as part of Juilliard’s chamber music program. “Green Shoots” aims to feature up-and-coming chamber artists in the intimate setting of the REACH, giving audiences a preview of stars-in-the-making.

About Isidore String Quartet

Winners of the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2022, the New York City-based Isidore String Quartet was formed in 2019 with a vision to revisit, rediscover, and reinvigorate the repertory. The quartet is heavily influenced by the Juilliard String Quartet and the idea of "approaching the established as if it were new, and the new as if it were firmly established."

The members of the quartet are violinists Adrian Steele and Phoenix Avalon, violist Devin Moore, and cellist Joshua McClendon.
