Our centennial year is both a milestone and a springboard to a transformative vision for our next one hundred years, but what will the next one hundred years look like? Join us on the museum's actual birth date for a contemplative, forward-thinking, dynamic performance from genre-bending classical ensemble Chromic Duo. Their performance will incorporate the museum's legacy of the last one hundred years and reshape the way we think about the next one hundred.

About Chromic Duo

We believe that, by slowing down and looking at the smallest objects of the everyday, that we can uncover truths and reimagine how we connect with one another. We reimagine how we gather, in and outside of the concert hall, and bring experiential works and installations as a creative studio and performing arts duo.

We love to collaborate and the power of storytelling through our experiences as third-culture kids within the Asian American diaspora.

Blending toy piano, electronics, and multimedia into genre-fluid concerts, installations, and long-term residencies at colleges + cultural institutions, we cultivate spaces + partnerships that share our commitment to inclusivity, equity, and innovation.

No matter the solution, the heart of what we do is constant: to cultivate intentional spaces for gathering to share stories that have been left out.

Concert highlights include the New York Philharmonic, Celebrity Series, and various appointments across the country as Visiting Artists.

We are Chromic Duo: Lucy Yao and Dorothy Chan. We are grand prize-winners at the Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) and Concert Artists Guild (CAG).
