Hear selections from Terence Blanchard's moving opera Champion, which receives its Metropolitan Opera premiere in 2023. Also included are Bernstein's West Side Story Suite for Brass Quintet; Michael Tilson Thomas's Street Song, a warm and popular brass composition that receives its Carnegie Hall debut; and an interesting pair of trios: Valerie Coleman's Rubispheres, dedicated to urban life and landscapes; and Charles Wuorinen's Trio for Trombone, Mallet Instruments, and Piano.
