Sergei Prokofiev — Violin Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 63 (Keila Wakao, violin)
Ludwig van Beethoven — Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68 "Pastorale"
Richard Wagner's glorious Siegfried Idyll opens the final concert of the season. The work was composed as a surprise birthday gift for his wife Cosima, and has moved audiences ever since. Violinist Keila Wakao won Gold at the Stulberg Competition in 2021 at the age of 14. Hear her electrifying playing in the growingly popular 20th Century masterpiece, Sergei Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 2 which was so well received by its Spanish audience after its premiere, that the country sent a delegation of musicians to thank Prokofiev afterwards!
BCO's season and Mo. Markand Thakar's remarkable tenure as Music Director comes to a brilliant finale in Beethoven's transcendent Symphony No. 6 "Pastorale". This is a concert you won't want to miss!
