It is our pleasure to present the Opening Night of our 2023 Chelsea Music Festival, "Songs for the Earth!"
Come to experience music that spans the centuries including composers such as Franz Schubert, Amy Beach, and Edvard Grieg, alongside New York Premiere Performances of works written by Nicky Sohn and David Evans. To close out the evening, audiences will enjoy our 2023 Composer-in-Residence Iman Habibi's powerful piece, Radiant Light.
The musical selections for Opening Night reflect our greater world and ecosystem, taking listeners into the skies, through the forest and inside of our great waters.
Featuring soprano Sonya Headlam, pianist Robert Fleitz, The Lee Trio, and conductor Ken-David Masur with Festival artists, this concert opens the Festival's 14th season with our Opening Weekend Sponsor, Genesis House.
