Celebrate the originality and independence of America's greatest composers! From the jazzy high life captured by George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein to the epic film scores of Aaron Copland and John Williams, the American sound is lively and limitless. Valerie Coleman's anthem for essential workers and a new spin on patriotism by BSO Artistic Partner, and hip-hop spoken word artist Wordsmith update the national tradition for the 21st Century. Like the flag that once flew over Baltimore's harbor and inspired The Star-Spangled Banner, this big and bold music is a declaration of freedom.
The performance closes with a fantastic fireworks display! Arrive early and grab a bite to eat or a drink from local food trucks. Homemade picnic items and BYOB can be enjoyed in the park before and during the performance. Don't forget your favorite blanket or lawn chair! Event parking is on-site only and included in the price of your ticket.
BSO will give 3 "Star-Spangled Spectacular" performances:
- Monday, July 3 at Oregon Ridge Park
- Tuesday, July 4 at Rash Field
