DCFlutes will present its final concert of the '22-'23 season with its first ever performance in Germantown MD. Led by National Symphony Orchestra Principal Flute Aaron Goldman and renowned conductor and flutist Sandra Ragusa, the group is comprised of professional and highly skilled flutists from around the DC Metro area. All members of the flute family are represented, including piccolo, C flute, alto, bass, and contrabass flutes.
The concert is FREE with plenty of parking available.
About DCFlutes Ensemble
DCflutes is an ensemble of the Washington DC area’s great flutists, many of whom are highly–accomplished professionals while others are serious avocational flutists. They are led by two eminent musicians, Aaron Goldman (Principal Flutist of the National Symphony Orchestra) and Sandra Ragusa (renowned international orchestral conductor and flutist).
The ensemble was founded in 2010 and is the official flute ensemble of the Flute Society of Washington. Its evolution since its founding has put DCflutes in the forefront of contemporary flute ensemble playing and the ensemble is known for its diverse repertoire and imaginative programming. When you experience a DCflutes concert, audience members enjoy world premieres, great soloists, pieces featuring extended flute technique and sounds, transcriptions of the symphonic literature, and arrangements of familiar favorites.
