Vashon Center for the Arts is pleased to present the Second Annual PianoFête!
In 2022 Vashon Center for the Arts partnered with renowned concert pianist and transcriber Vyacheslav "Slava" Gryaznov to create a world-class festival of piano music. Word about the success of 2022’s inaugural PianoFête spread through the classical piano community, so for 2023 we've decided to add a fourth pianist to excite and thrill audiences.
PianoFête 2023 is proud to feature the extraordinary pianists Vyacheslav Gryaznov, Katya Kramer-Lapin, Konstantin Soukhoveski and Rexa Han. Plus, expect to see our very own Vashon Maury Chamber Orchestra joining in the surprise grand finale!
About Katya Kramer-Lapin, piano
Charismatic pianist and recording artist Katya Kramer-Lapin debuted with her solo album 'Luminescence' on the Oclassica digital label in the Spring of 2022. Katya's solo concert appearances include UNESCO Headquarters, patroned by John Paul II in Paris, France; World Bank and International Monetary Fund, Washington, DC; as well as solo and chamber performances in major halls in Taiwan, Europe, and Russia. One of Katya's passions is the genre of piano-transcriptions. As an educator and interpreter, Katya's solo recent engagements represent various important works of this genre. In addition to solo career, Katya enjoys being a co-founder of Duo Amabile, a violin-piano duet with her husband, violinist Matvey Lapin.

Konstantin Soukhovetski has performed at the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theater, Paris' Musee du Louvre, Bern’s Paul Klee Zentrum, Carnegie's Weill, and Zankel halls. For his debut at Lincoln Center Alice Tully Hall, Konstantin was praised on the NYTimes Arts Section cover: "Romanticism so intense it warms up Philip Glass." He is an adjunct faculty of his alma mater, The Juilliard School, where he received his BM, MM, and AD with Jerome Lowenthal. Konstantin has been recently named Director of Pedagogy and Narrative Musicianship at Bronx School for Music. Konstantin's creativity expands to innovative artistic projects that frequently involve modern dance. In 2022, Konstantin premiered Encounters, a commission by MorDance from Polina Nazaykinskaya, which involved him in the choreography while he was performing on the piano, the only music for the ballet. In April 2023, Konstantin premiered Ms. Nazaykinskaya's new ballet Emily with MorDance.

Russian concert pianist Vyacheslav Gryaznov, arranger and composer, is the author of more than 40 concert arrangements. He has gained a reputation as one of the most remarkable young arrangers working today. In 2014, Gryaznov signed a publishing contract with Schott Music, the youngest Russian in their history to do so. He graduated with honors from the Central Music School of the Moscow State Conservatory where he studied with Professor Manana Kandelaki. He proceeded with undergraduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory (class of Professor Yuri Slesarev), once again completing his degree with honors. He continued at the Moscow Conservatory as a postgraduate student and was on the teaching faculty of the Moscow Conservatory's Piano Department. In 2018 he completed Yale University's Artist Diploma program under the Yale School of Music's Professor Boris Berman. He is an artist of the Moscow Philharmonic and is an Artist-in-Residence with The Drozdoff Society in the United States. PianoFête marks Slava’s fourth return to Vashon Center for the Arts.

Rexa Han is a Chinese-born American pianist who's performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Steinway Hall, Yamaha Center, the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and more. Rexa has performed in many music festivals, such as the International Piano Festival in Spain, the renowned International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City, the Int’l Music Festival in Shanghai, China, and the Palermo Classical Music Festival in Sicily, Italy. Rexa frequently appears on the famous NY classical radio station WQXR, New Jersey's WWFM, and WFMT in Chicago. In 2011, Rexa won the First Prize in the 62nd Kosciuszko Chopin International Piano Competition in New York City. In 2012 she was awarded an "Extraordinary Ability" green card from the Government of the United States under recommendation by Van Cliburn. Rexa Han's upcoming CD, Déjà vu, will be released in Sicily under Palermo Classica.
