St. Mary Magdalene Parish (The Madeleine), Portland, OR, United States

Each year, Portland Summer Ensembles, a weeklong chamber music workshop, gives students studying strings and piano the opportunity to study with other advanced and intermediate level musicians. PSE's esteemed faculty includes Emily Cole and Marilyn de Oliveira from the Oregon Symphony and Mousai Remix String Quartet, Jason Fisher and Zenas Hsu from Boston-based, Grammy-nominated ensemble A Far Cry, and piano extraordinaire Yoko Greeney.

Please join PSE faculty as they perform a special concert showcasing works from Andrew Norman's Companion Guide to Rome, Kudo's Sonata for Violin & Piano, Carolyn Shaw's Limestone and Felt, and Hensel's String Quartet, featuring different textures, short stories, and vignettes in unusual instrumental combos which frame two beautiful romantic cannon works.
