About Parker Van Ostrand, piano

Parker Van Ostrand studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with Garrick Ohlsson and Jon Nakamatsu. He won the Gold Medal in the 71st Wideman International Piano Competition and collaborated with Yuja Wang for a performance at the SFCM Gala in November. Parker won Third Prize in the 2020 National Chopin Piano Competition, and was one of 20 high school students nationwide named a 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts. Last June, he was selected to play in the inaugural G. Henle Verlag Murray Perahia Masterclass in Munich. Since 2014, he has performed with seven orchestras, including Symphony Parnassus and the Frost Symphony Orchestra. This summer, he will perform at the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival as well as a concert with violinist Amaryn Olmeda as part of an ongoing collaboration. Parker previously studied with Linda Nakagawa, Natsuki Fukasawa, and Sarah Chan.
