United States Air Force Band of the Golden West: Sierra Winds FREE Concert

Free concert by the Sierra Winds of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West! This event is family-friendly and open to the public. Please join us as we perform an hour of exciting music, honor our veterans, and tell the Air Force story!

This program will receive 2 performances:
- Saturday, August 19, 3pm at Kent United Methodist Church
- Sunday, August 20, 3pm at Island Church of Whidbey

About Sierra Winds

Sierra Winds is part of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West from Travis Air Force Base, California. Comprised of flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon, this flexible ensemble supports a wide variety of musical events ranging from military ceremonies and patriotic shows to educational programs and recitals of original works for woodwind quintet. Sierra Winds excels at all styles of music, including marches, jazz, and classical.

The quintet has had the honor to present masterclasses at prominent universities, conservatories, and arts academies across the West Coast. Their ability to blend musical styles and push the woodwind quintet medium outside the box has led to several commissions over the years as they continue to champion new music by American composers.
