Note from the host: "Join us for a classical guitar Groupmuse with Matt Kaplan at Aikido of South Brooklyn in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.
"Matt's program is centered on Leo Brouwer's newly composed Trois Nouvelles Études. Brouwer wrote these new etudes in 2020 inspired by Thibault Cauvin's recording of all 30 Brouwer studies during lockdown, and they are written as a tribute to 20th-century French philosophers Claude Lèvi-Strauss, Jean-Paul Satre, and Jacques Derrida. The program will also include music by Bach, Turina, Satie, and Jaime Zenamon, who wrote a beautiful Homage à Maurice Ravel in 3 movements.
"Feel free to bring your favorite snacks and beverages, take your shoes (literally), and make yourself comfortable for a fantastic performance.
"We look forward to seeing you there!"
Kid-friendly event. Residence is not handicap accessible. Bring your own drinks.
