The acclaimed International Contemporary Ensemble presents a program of chamber music featuring world premieres by Rome Prize-winning Courtney Bryan and Adegoke Steve Colson, a longtime member of the famed Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. Conducted by Vimbayi Kaziboni, one of the foremost interpreters of contemporary classical music of his generation, this program reveals the new Afromodernism as an intercultural, multigenerational space of innovation.

Courtney Bryan's Dreaming is commissioned by Arlene and Larry Dunn in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. Adegoke Steve Colson's MIRRORS is commissioned by the Fromm Music Foundation. This performance is is made possible, in part, due to support from the Fromm Music Foundation.

Laura Cocks is a New York-based flutist who works in a wide array of creative environments as a performer and promoter of contemporary music. Laura is the flutist and executive director of TAK ensemble, and a member of the Nouveau Classical Project and the Association of Dominican Classical Artists. About Vimbayi Kaziboni, conductor

Described as a conductor of "great intensity, without distancing, maneuvering, without indifference" (neuemuzikzeitung), Zimbabwean-born conductor Vimbayi Kaziboni (b. 1988) is widely sought-after for his depth of approach and his interpretive imagination and expressivity. He has led many critically lauded performances with orchestras across the globe in Australia, Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Uzbekistan.

A former Fulbright Fellow (2013-14), Kaziboni holds degrees from the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles and the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) in Germany.
