Named one of ClassicFM's "30 Under 30" Rising Stars, Jamaican-American violist Jordan Bak has already achieved international acclaim as a trailblazing artist and is praised for his radiant stage presence, dynamic interpretations, and fearless power. The Balourdet Quartet is currently in residence at the prestigious Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and recently received the grand prize at the Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition.

The Schwartz Center for Performing Arts is delighted to open the 2023–2024 Candler Concert Series with an evening of string quintets from these exceptional artists on September 22.

In their Schwartz Center concert, Balourdet Quartet and Jordan Bak will perform String Quintet No. 3 in C major, K. 515—one of Mozart's crowning achievements in chamber music repertoire; Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quintet No. 2 in B-flat major, Op. 87; and will close out the concert with a work that represents a culmination of Johannes Brahms's unique legacy, his String Quintet No. 2 in G major, Op. 111.
