"One of the most thoughtful and sensitive of British pianists" (The Times), Mishka Rushdie Momen marks her PPI debut with a program weaving keyboard music of the English Renaissance with personal, poignant works spanning three centuries.

From the jubilant sounds of church bells to a moving lament, the music of William Byrd evokes cinematic colors and intimate emotions that are mirrored in variations Mendelssohn penned to honor Beethoven after his death. And Rushdie Momen displays her refined, expressive playing in selections from Prokofiev's Visions fugitives — mesmerizing miniatures that hover between dreamscapes and reality — while Schubert's towering C minor Sonata offers a journey of radiant hope and disquieting despair.

This performance will receive 2 performances: Sunday, September 24, 4pm at Lincoln Performance Hall; and Tuesday, September 26, at the Reser Center.
