The concert opens with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's magnificent String Quartet No. 19 in C major, K. 465, widely known as the "Dissonance" quartet. Continuing the musical journey, the New Bartók Quartet will delve into Béla Bartók's mesmerizing String Quartet No. 4, Sz 91. Enter the realm of Bartók's inventive and emotive compositions, characterized by their rich tapestry of melodies, rhythmic complexities, and vibrant folk-inspired motifs.

The New Bartók Quartet (Wanchi Huang and Airi Yoshioka, violins; James Stern, viola; and Eric Kutz, cello) is comprised of outstanding string faculty from the DMV region – namely UMBC, the University of Maryland, College Park, and James Madison University.
