S'amusant is one of Baltimore's newest musical ensembles, featuring extraordinary artists Wade Davis (cello), Patrick Merrill (piano), and Melissa Wimbish (soprano). The group's program, "Dreams and Fantasies," will cross boundaries from its early music roots to explore the music of Schumann, Fauré, Chopin, and Pärt.

About S'amusant

S'amusant is the newest Early Music group on the Baltimore scene. Wade Davis, baroque cello and Patrick Merrill, harpsichord featuring Melissa Wimbish, soprano performed to acclaim at their debut concert in the Historic Parish Hall of the First Unitarian Church of Baltimore and have since played to rapt audiences at An di Musik and St. Thomas Aquinas Church, also in Baltimore. Recent performances include a fundraiser concert for the Westchester Oratorio Society's Annual Gala in Westchester, NY; a concert engagement at Baltimore's Walters Art Gallery featuring the world premiere of A Valediction of Weeping, a new work written for the ensemble by Baltimore-based composer John Belkot; and pre-Evensong recital at St. David's Episcopal Church in Roland Park.

"Our mission is to perform this music with style and panache, and to have fun while doing it."

Wade Davis studied with John Moran at Peabody Conservatory (MM'11, GPD '13) Patrick Merrill (MM'15) is a DMA candidate studying with Adam Pearl at Peabody Conservatory. Melissa Wimbish (MM'11), recent winner of the NATSAA (NATS Artist Award) in Boston, studied with Phyllis Bryn-Julson and Ah Young Hong at Peabody Conservatory.
