Live Arts Maryland’s annual performances of “Messiah” are a beloved Annapolis holiday tradition performed in one of the city’s most beloved and iconic buildings. World-class soloists, the Chamber Orchestra, and, of course, the Annapolis Chorale, all come together in historic St. Anne’s Church for a powerful presentation of this timeless work. The audience joins the singing with some holiday carols!

Our presentation of Messiah is family friendly and curated for audience members of all ages. Seating for these performances is limited so order your tickets early!

About David Murray, bass-baritone

David B. Murray is an American baritone. His rich baritone voice, dramatic presence, and versatility as a performer has brought him acclaim from critics and concert goers throughout the world. Recognized for his steady lyric tone and seamless technique Murray has triumphed in many of the great operatic roles. Recent roles include: Figaro in Rossini's The Barber of Seville (Newton Symphony), Emile in Rogers and Hamerstein's South Pacific (Clafflin Hill Orchestra), Barnaba in Ponchielli's La Gioconda, Renato in Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera, (Connecticut Concert Opera), Jack Rance in Puccini's La Fanciulla del West (Boston Academy of Music), and Sharpless in Puccini's Madama Butterfly.

Equally at home on the concert stage, David has performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra, Keith Lockhart and John Williams conducting, Handel and Haydn Society, Tokyo Philharmonic, Telemann Orchestra of Japan, New Japan Philharmonic, Boston Academy of Music, Theatre Lyrique d'Europe, Chorus pro Musica, Boston Lyric Opera, Heritage Chorale, Back Bay Chorale, as well as leading roles with the Lake George Opera Festival, Carmel Bach Festival (1969), Central City Opera, Eugene Opera, Connecticut Concert Opera, and Denver Symphony.

David Murray is currently the Publishing Manager for Subito Music Corporation and lives in suburban New Jersey with his wife and two sons.

David Murray has recorded for the Koch, New Albion, Titanic, and CRI record labels.
