Experience a cornucopia of "mouth-watering" Baroque treats. Maestro Dimmock leads Bach in Baltimore's orchestra of Baroque virtuosi in this all-instrumental concert featuring some of the most beloved works from the Baroque, including:
J.S. Bach – Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F major
Considered one of the most virtuoso pieces in the entire repertoire for trumpets. We announce with pride that Rene Shapiro of the BSO will be the featured trumpeter.
J.S. Bach – Orchestral Suite No. 3
A gorgeous work that many consider to be the greatest Baroque work featuring a solo flute. Bach in Baltimore features the magnificent flutist Sara Nichols.
G.P. Telemann – Concerto for Two Oboes and Bassoon
Telemann and Bach were contemporaries. Both were prolific composers of the highest caliber. The Concerto for Two Oboes and Bassoon is a splendid piece show for the three double reed soloists accompanied by a string orchestra.
Don't miss it!
