This concert also includes Irish songs of Sir Hamilton Harty, as well as new music by African-American composers Hale Smith and Brittney Boykin. We explore the human condition that we share through music with texts by Native poet Jane Schoolcraft, Irish poet Moira O'Neill, Maya Angelou, and Langston Hughes.
A MusicMatters chat with the artists follows the concert.
