The Western Symphony Orchestra performs Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate's Spirit Chief Names the Animal People, narrated by acclaimed First Nations actor Sam Bob, and with live light art performance by Heather Dawn Sparks.

The piece tells the traditional Okanagan story of Coyote's ill-fated attempts to beat Bear, Salmon, and Eagle to win the best name before the arrival of humankind.

This 45-minute program also includes the frenetic Sensemayá by Mexican composer Silvestre Revueltas, inspired by an Afro-Cuban ritual for killing a snake.
