Join the Georgian Chamber Players at Ahavath Achim Synagogue for a concert presented by the Marilyn Ginsberg Eckstein Cultural Arts Program Fund.
The program will feature noted local chamber artists, performing isonci works by Franz Schubert, Edvard Grieg, and Johannes Brahms.
This concert is open to the community. No admission charge. Reception following the concert. A donation ($20) to the Cultural Arts Fund is appreciated.
About Georgian Chamber Players
The Georgian Chamber Players include David Coucheron, Julianne Lee, Reid Harris, Zhenwei Shi, Rainer Eudeikis, Elizabeth Pridgen, and Julie Coucheron. The group was formed by principal players of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 1984 in order to perform masterpieces of the chamber repertoire with their Atlanta Symphony Orchestra colleagues and world-renowned guest instrumentalists.

About Zhenwei Shi, viola
Zhenwei Shi has performed as a solo violist and chamber musician at prestigious venues such as Buckingham Palace, Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall and Shanghai Concert Hall. Since 2018, he has frequently played with the San Francisco Symphony and Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Zhenwei Shi was appointed by maestro Robert Spano as Principal Viola of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 2018.

Daniel Laufer joined the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 1991 and currently holds the position of Acting Principal Cello. He won a section position with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) at age 18 and joined a year later under Eduardo Mata. After two years with the DSO, Mr. Laufer joined the ASO as the Associate Principal Cello.
A regular chamber music performer, Laufer was a founding member of the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta and the Franklin Pond Chamber Music Program. Mr. Laufer has collaborated with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Sadao Harada, Robert Spano, Donald Runnicles, Alan Gilbert, James Ehnes, and Pinchas Zukerman, among others, and has performed on many occasions as a guest with the Fine Arts Quartet both in the United States and abroad.
Since 2012, Mr. Laufer has enjoyed being associated with the Grand Teton Music Festival as Principal Cellist under Maestro Donald Runnicles and enjoying chamber music performances at the summer festival.
