Spanning almost one hundred years, this repertoire comprises of four national, compositional, and musical styles, which envelops an abundance of emotions and a variety of musical languages. Starting in Italy, then France, Germany, and ending in Scotland, the music in this program is delicately placed so the listener can be transported to different times and different places.

About In Nomine Ensemble

Hailing from The Juilliard School, In Nomine Ensemble has recently joined the historical performance scene along the East Coast. Because of its unique instrumentation of Baroque violin, Baroque flute, Baroque bassoon, and harpsichord, the ensemble offers a distinct interpretation to the pieces it performs, mostly written during the 17th and 18th Centuries. In Nomine Ensemble strives to bring its passion of historically-informed performance to various audiences.

About Jimmy Drancsak, baroque violin

Jimmy Drancsak is a violinist and violist living in the New York City area. A Masters student at The Juilliard School, Jimmy also holds a degree in both Violin Performance and Music Education from the SUNY Fredonia School of Music. He has performed internationally with Juilliard415, and performs in North America with In Nomine Ensemble, the Arrow Quartet, La forza delle stelle, Seven Hills Baroque Ensemble, Kollective366, and was recently a participant of the Baroque and Classical Academy of the Carmel Bach Festival in Carmel, California. Over the past year, he has also enjoyed sharing the stage with performers such as Rachel Podger, William Christie, Masaaki Suzuki, Paul Agnew, and Lionel Meunier. A native of Skaneateles, New York, Jimmy grew up in the North American fiddle tradition and has years of experience playing folk music with a particular interest in Celtic, Bluegrass, and East European fiddling, all centered around various forms of musical improvisation.

About Morgan Davison, baroque bassoon

Bassoonist Morgan Davison, hailed as the world's first "Bassoonfluencer" by The New Yorker, is a popular musical presence in the social media world. Passionate about her art form, and striving to educate, she creates videos almost daily showing her practice routine, life as a current graduate student at The Juilliard School, and other artistic endeavors that are essential to her, like the reed making involved with being a bassoonist, or the research of important composers like Igor Stravinsky. She earned her Bachelors of Music from Manhattan School of Music. While at both schools, Morgan has had the privilege of studying with Kim Laskowski, Associate Principal Bassoon of the New York Philharmonic.

Recently, Ms. Davison was one of ten semifinalists for the 2019 Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition, an international competition dedicated to young female bassoonists from the Americas. Passionate about solo playing and chamber music alike, Morgan has been the recipient of many awards, including being named a two-time winner for the National YoungArts Foundation, a three-time winner for her home state of Colorado’s Young Musician’s Foundation, and a semifinalist in the Fischoff Chamber Competition. She has traveled to numerous countries for her art, including Taiwan, Italy, Switzerland, and England.

During her summer months, Morgan has attended prestigious festivals such as Tanglewood Music Center, Aspen Summer Music Festival & School, and The Sarasota Music Festival. While attending the 2018 Aspen Summer Music Festival, Morgan was privileged to work with Walt Disney Animation Studios and prominent studio musicians from LA to showcase and tribute original scores from the last decade of great Disney movies.

In her free time, Morgan loves to commit to arts and crafts like embroidery and painting. Born in beautiful Colorado, Morgan is an enthusiastic hiker and loves to spend as much time as she can outside with her twin brother Cameron, and her family’s Australian Shepherd, Max.
